Raise your voice!

Hey everyone,

This week, as apart of this weeks homework, we have to write a blogpost about the topic ‘Raise you Voice’. It was made by Blog Action Day.  It is about writing about what you want to express. You can write pretty much anything, but the main purpose is for you to get to raise your voice and be heard. A lot of people are very shy and can’t tell anyone their opinion. I think that this is trying to help that and encourage them to speak.

For my blog post, I chose to do write about the Syrian refugees. I think that this is an important topic and I should be heard about. I think that the Syrian refugees aren’t treated equally as others, like us, Australians. I think that all the refugees NEED a home and should have shelter and a warm bed, food and fresh, clean water. I think that the number of refugees that are misplaced or have moved to a close developing country or raven still in Syria. I that they should ‘Raise their Voice’ as well and get a say, because that is their life in a backpack. I think that it is truly unfair that we get to live like this and they get to live like that.

Photo of where refugees have to live:

A Syrian refugee child who fled the violence from the Syrian town of Flita, near Yabroud, poses for a photograph at the border town of Arsal

And we get to live like this:

IMG_9775_edit

Is that fair? I think that everyone should all have the same equal rights whether it is a, warm bed, a bedroom, voting, marriage or education and all have a say and RAISE YOUR VOICE!

Earthquake and Tsunami video

Hey everyone,

In Unit of Inquiry in Term three, we got asked to research and find out information about a specific earthquake, tsunami or volcano. I chose to do a tsunami that caused an earthquake in Japan in 2011. We then got a task to gather all the information and then turn it into a news report video. Unfortunately, I am not able to upload the video so this is my script that I used in the video.

This is my script:

SCRIPT:

I am reporting live from the scene from the Japan earthquake that hit, on March 11th.

As you can see there are people rushing to this building. This building is used for Tsunamis that hit this city as it is very usual to get earthquakes and tsunamis here. I am in Miyako City, Sendai, where the earthquake with a magnitude of 9 occurred from the tsunami. The earthquake was felt by the whole of its country.

The earthquake and tsunami occurred when the Pacific plate thrusts under the North American plate. Northern Japan sits on the west tip of North American plate, called the Japan trench. The main parts of the japan trench is the dark blue line. The earthquake was a result of thrust faulting, a violent movement of the Pacific plate compressing underneath the North American plate, forcing it upward. Japan is situated along the world’s most active earthquake belt, the Pacific Ring of fire, where rigid plates in the Earth’s crust collide along the rim of the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake originated 373 kilometres northeast of Tokyo and 130 kilometres east of Sendai, Honshu in the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake occurred at a depth of about 24.4 kilometres.

Earthquakes are caused by the movement of the huge tectonic plates that the continents sit on. The plates move about a couple of centimeters every year. The plates come together and rub together to form an earthquake. The plates movements change and slide under each other and causes it to bend and then the plate that is

bent, gets too much friction and that then turns and then flips and that causes the water on top of the plate to move and cause a huge wave to form. The pressure between the two plates causes a tsunami.

There were a lot of different responses from this tragic event that was placed.  This tsunami impacted a lot of people. 19 000 people died from this event and five hundred and seventy four billion dollars was used to reshape buildings that had fallen and to pay for the damage that has taken place.

There were a lot of people killed and a lot of damage was taken place.

Thank you for listening.

I hope you liked my script and sorry I couldn’t post my movie but I hope you get an idea of what my movie is like.

CYOAS – Final chapter

Hey everyone,

This is a little summary of the last chapter:

In the last chapter (chapter 6), Ellie (the main character) finds a few other notes and tells her father that. Her Dad is so interested and intrigued in this project that he has been spending a whole lot of time on the notes and working them out that it is like he is addicted about all the notes and figuring out the puzzle. It almost seems like all the notes are driving Ellie and her father’s relationship away.

Ellie gathers all of the notes that were given to figure out this message or paragraph from Alanah. She ended up with this message: Connect all the notes together to form a note telling you what to do to get to The Forest of Mystery. Follow … trail into the yard and through the shed, follow the path down the hill, until you see the trail of breadcrumbs. When you get to that point, you will see Alanah

Ellie showed her father what she found, happily and excitedly. Her father was popping with excitement too. He waited patiently and politely until Ellie finished sharing her news. Her father then asked if Ellie had finished sharing what she had said. As she said yes, he jumped up out of his chair and showed her

b) A photo from the computer

c) Another note saying, good luck!

The option with the most votes, was, option b, a photo from the computer, so I am going to continue the story from that option. Thank you to the people that voted!

Chapter 7 – The final chapter

As Ellie stared into the amusing screen, she saw an interesting image. It was a photo of some kind of forest or park. That park or forest was full of mythical and unreal creatures. At the top of the attractive image, was a sign that said,

The Forest of Mystery

in a curvy and disturbing font that made the eye want to look away. It was an unstable forest. It looked dry and plain without the creatures but the creatures really brought the forest to life and brought out the colours. No one would be able to not be attracted to this forest. It was absolutely amazing. Ellie thought about this forest all night and all morning.

Ellie finally stopped worrying about the forest and wondered about her father. She looked around and waited for her Dad to come down from his shower as Ellie heard the drops of water. As her father rushed down the stairs, Ellie rapidly told him what she thought about all the drama that was going on, with all the notes. Ellie and her father discussed the notes very awkwardly and decided that they should just keep collecting the notes. Ellie’s father decided that he should go on this big adventure that Alanah had planned out. She wondered if she should go on the adventure or not. She wondered again if this was a prank. She wanted to know what was going on so she too decided that she would go on Alanah’s adventure. When Ellie told her father, her father briskly wrapped his hands around her and shared his love.

When Ellie got to school she focused on the notes. She went into all of her classes with the same thoughts. Finally she got picked on by her worst teacher, Mrs Arlin, the short stout woman with a kind personality and the same messy bun worn everyday. She got asked a question that she did not know the answer to. She wondered how fast she could come up with a reasonable come back or what to do to not get picked on. She shot back with ‘Can I please go to the bathroom’. As she got out of the classroom, she sighed with relief. She was glad that Mrs Arlin wasn’t that strict of a teacher. If it was Mrs Edlen’s class, she would have gotten detention. Ellie thought that she would actually wait and keep her mind off the things about the notes so she wouldn’t get into trouble. She reminded herself that there was no rush on finding the way to The Forest of Mystery.

Once the aggressive bell went off, Ellie sped down the stairs to the empty playground to grab her bag from her locker. She wanted to figure out some more about the notes, Alanah and The Forest of Mystery. Just as she unlocked the lock of her locker and opened the door, a note dropped out of her locker. One of Alanah’s notes. She opened it and as the word appeared she springed to her feet and bolted home. The word that appeared on the piece of paper was the word the. Ellie knew exactly where to put the note in the paragraph. She knew that the passage or the paragraph was finished and done. She knew that now, she would be able to go to The Forest of Mystery. She knew what to do.

When Ellie arrived home, she grabbed the phone and dialed the numbers, 0703 643 324. When her father picked up, she screeched out, ‘I found a note, I found a note, the final note!’ her father yelled back, ‘I’m coming!’ as Ellie put the phone down. Ellie knew that her father would be as happy as her. She understood that he had worked and that he worked far away.

‘I’ve arrived’ Ellie’s father yelled from the front door. Ellie hurriedly rushed to the door as if a thousand sharks were chasing her. ‘I found this note and guess what it says on it, the!’

‘That was perfect because now, the passage is complete!’ her father said.

‘This is the passage … completed,’ Ellie said, ‘Connect all the notes together to form a note telling you what to do to get to The Forest of Mystery. Follow the trail into the yard and through the shed, follow the path down the hill, until you see the trail of breadcrumbs. When you get to that point, you will see Alanah.’

‘Let’s go,’ Ellie’s father said as they exited out the back door that was locked in case of emergencies. In their backyard, they had a trail that they thought didn’t go anywhere, but according to Alanah, there was a secret trail through the trees. Ellie and her father ran through to the yard and followed the trail into the shed and through the trees, once they made it into the trees, it was very dark and then they passed a beautiful willow tree and everything began to be colourful and floral. It looked very unreal and spectacular to Ellie. She saw something incredible. It was like a different galaxy. She crept into the tree and sat underneath it trying to attract her father to sit next to her.

They sat next to each other astonished at what they saw with their own eyes.

CYOAS – Chapter 6

Hey everyone,

This is a little summary of the last chapter:

Ellie (the main character) gets a few other notes as well. The note that she had recently had gotten said, connect all the notes together to form a note telling you what to do to get to The Forest of Mystery. Ellie didn’t understand what the note meant, but what she did know was that there must be a note before the note that she was just given. She knew this because the word, connect didn’t have a capital and the starts of the other sentences did have capitals. She also knew that there was a note waiting for her at home so she rushed home. When she got home, she rapidly gathered all the notes and tried to put them all together. She grabbed all of them. The notes that were given were follow, trail, into the yard and through the shed, follow the path down the hill, until you see the trail of breadcrumbs. When you get to that point, you will see Alanah and Connect all the notes together to form a note telling you what to do to get to The Forest of Mystery. When her Dad got home, she told him what was going on but her Dad abruptly came through the door as it rattled. Her Dad was full of positivity so it seemed strange that he would open the door with a bang and a rattle, but Ellie told him anyway.

His expression was …

  1. a) He looked blankly at her and replied with, what?
  2. b) He looked at Ellie eager to know what she had found out so far about the notes.
  3. c) He looked at her surprised to see what Ellie had come up with.

Thank you to the people that voted! I found that all the votes were even as two people voted for option a and two people voted for option b so I choose that his expression should be when he looks at Ellie eager to know what she had found out so far about the notes.

Chapter 6

As Ellie looked at her fathers expression, she wondered what to do. Ellie’s father’s expression was really different. He looked at Ellie eager to know what she had found out so far about the notes. Ellie was holding the notes about to tell him what was going on but somehow there was a big rushing breeze that through them out of order and onto the ground. Ellie started to look grumpy and interrupted. The rushing breeze that bothered her and her Dad rudely interrupted her. It interrupted her trying to tell her father about the notes. As her father abruptly fell to the floor helping Ellie. Ellie and her father lived together for more than five years already and they had never had an awkward conversation before. They assumed that they had never had an awkward conversation because they understood each other and what each other was going through or what troubles they each dealt with. But, this conversation was very odd and awkward. It was like all their care for each other was gone and it was like they had never met each other before. It was like that because of these notes. The notes were in the way of their relationship. They were to excited about one thing, in this case the notes or this adventure that they forgot about the other things that were more important or what had to be taken care of.

They looked at each other eager to find out what was going on. She grabbed the notes from him and sighed and said thanks. She memorised the order of the notes so all she had to do was put them in order and show her Dad. She said to her Dad that she knew a lot about the notes already. He knew that Ellie was an intelligent girl so he just nodded and listened to what Ellie had to say. Ellie realised that her Dad was ready for her to explain about the notes so she reached out her legs to her chair and grabbed a chair for her Dad and started talking.

Ellie started talking about a lot of things, the notes, why the notes and how they did it. She was very confused and frustrated by a lot of annoying things at school, such as tests, competitions and a load of homework due the following week. She was surprised that she could actually fit this in and fit it in quickly, in time to work out what the notes meant and what happened and what was going on. She was still very excited about this adventure.

Once Ellie explained this to her father, she gave a big sigh. It was almost rude, that was how big the sigh was. Her father gave a funny face and Ellie laughed as she bent down to grab her pencil that had fallen on the floor. Ellie and her father complained about this issue and that they shouldn’t really over think this and they shouldn’t think that it is a big thing as it may just be the boys and girls in the neighbourhood playing with our eyes and joking around. They thought about it but they thought that it could only be Alanah and her mythical creatures because Ellie and her Dad themselves, had seen Alanah and they believe that she is real because they had seen her with their own eyes. Ellie ran halfway up the stairs when she blurted out that she was going to bed and she would check out the notes later in the morning. Her father nodded and said that he would do the same and watch some television in his room.

Early morning, she thought to herself that she should get up and tidy up the papers or notes and read them once more. She found that it would be a good idea to put them all together and try to make a paragraph. She ended up with this statement or paragraph:

Connect all the notes together to form a note telling you what to do to get to The Forest of Mystery. Follow … trail into the yard and through the shed, follow the path down the hill, until you see the trail of breadcrumbs. When you get to that point, you will see Alanah

Ellie seemed very happy with this. Her expression and her face told a hundred words. She seemed very excited and interested in this project that she was given. She wondered if her Dad was coming down or if he was having a sleep-in, but she knew that he was going to come down. In that split second, he came down. He was in his pyjamas worried about the notes but was then astonished by her daughter’s expression. He too, had something interesting to show her to. They laughed in sink as he sowed her what had happened and what exciting news he had.

He showed her…

CYOAS – Chapter 5

Hey everyone,

This is a little summery of the last chapter:

In the last chapter, Ellie the main character wakes up and looks out the window and finds Alanah at the front door. She was holding a bag with paper sticking out of it. Ellie thought to her self but than took a quick glance at her clock and saw that it was half past eight, it was the time school started. She imagined the bell ring and forgot all of about Alanah and the note. She rushed a hug to her dad, grabbed her lunch and her school bag and jumped onto her bike. As she arrived at school she thought about the note. She would check if there was a note later. When she arrived at school she suddenly raced to the classroom. After the first period and second period finished, she went down to her locker and found Alanah there again. She was doing something in Ellie’s locker again. Ellie sprinted as fast as she could and raced to grab Alanah but she sped away. She must have had super powers Ellie thought surprised. She thought that she would get her next time and went into her locker she saw a note the same shape and size as the other notes that she had gotten. She looked inside it. It said something that she didn’t understand like the other notes. It had said something that made her mind clueless,

The options were:

The note said …

a) the

b) Follow her into the forest of breadcrumbs and then through to The Forest of Mystery.

c) Connect all the notes together to form a note telling you what to do to get to The Forest of Mystery.

The votes were all for option c, Connect all the notes together to form a note telling you what to do to get to The Forest of Mystery, so I am going with option c.

Chapter 5

The note had said, connect all the notes together to form a note telling you what to do to get to The Forest of Mystery. Ellie didn’t understand but what she did know was that there was a note that was waiting for her at home, so she raced home. She knew that her Dad would be proud of her if she showed him the note so she rushed to get home. She wondered if he would be there but she raced home anyway. Ellie was so excited that she could pop from excitement. She was running so fast, she couldn’t even take a breath. If she were a little older, she would be unbeatable at running and sprinting.

She looked around to see her father and if he was home yet from his busy job. She realized that he wasn’t so she looked around if there was anything to do. Ellie reached into her bag and grabbed all the notes she had gotten. There were six altogether now. Every little creak or sound that she heard she would get up and see if it was her Dad, but then disappointedly, get back to working out the notes. She wondered if anyone else got these notes and brainstormed who might get these notes.

Abruptly, the door rattled and the door banged open. It was her Dad. Her Dad was full o positivity so it seemed strange that he would open the door with a bang and a rattle. Her Dad raced out with excitement. Was she going to show him something as well? Ellie was intrigued already by the expression on his face. She wondered if she should ask him anything, as there was an awkward silence. He stood still as Ellie asked, did you find any notes today? Ellie’s father replied with a silent nod and showed her the piece of paper. The paper was like the rest as you could see the words if you held it back and you couldn’t see the words if you held it close to your eyes.

The note had said, into the yard and through the shed, follow the path down the hill, until you see the trail of breadcrumbs. When you get to that point, you will see Alanah. The notes had still said something that did not make sense to her. They started the sentence, but without a capital letter and then the next sentence was a new sentence but it started with a capital letter. That had only meant one thing, there must have to be something or some kind of quote. She looked into the notes. The notes that were given were follow, trail, into the yard and through the shed, follow the path down the hill, until you see the trail of breadcrumbs. When you get to that point, you will see Alanah, Connect all the notes together to form a note telling you what to do to get to The Forest of Mystery. Ellie connected all of the notes and found a paragraph within all of the quotes or sentences.

She told her Dad that she saw a paragraph within all of the quotes or sentences. Her Dad looked at his daughter longingly.

His expression was …

a) He looked blankly at her and replied with, what?

b) He looked at Ellie eager to know what she had found out so far about the notes.

c) He looked at her surprised to see what Ellie had come up with.

CYOAS – Chapter 4

Hi everyone,

Here is a summary from the last chapter:

In the third chapter, Ellie’s Dad comes home from the dry cleaners with the wrong orders. Ellie and her Dad thought about the same thing, what was going on? They thought about the possibilities. Then Ellie’s Dad thought about telling her daughter about the note he had received. He just told her and felt proud to tell him that. Ellie told her father that she got a note as well and showed him. They exchanged notes and told each other what they had found out about the notes. They were confused and unknown of what the note meant.

The options were:

The note said …

a) the

b) into the yard and through the shed, follow the path down the hill, until you see the trail of breadcrumbs. When you get to that point, you will see Alanah.

c) You need to

The votes were even between b and c so I decided to go with option b, ‘into the yard and through the shed, follow the path down the hill, until you see the trail of breadcrumbs. When you get to that point, you will see Alanah’. I think that the story will become interesting from there. Thank you for voting!

Chapter 4

They thought that the note said something really important, so they examined it. The note had said ‘into the yard and through the shed, follow the path down the hill, until you see the trail of breadcrumbs. When you get to that point, you will see Alanah’ but they weren’t sure what it meant. Did it mean something important or just a note that someone had put down so they could prank you. They thought about the piece of paper. They weren’t sure what to do, so they kept the note in case. She collected the notes from Alanah and put them in her room.

***

Ellie looked out through the window and saw the white blob, Alanah. Ellie thought that she had been in the house as she was right at the front door. She looked like she was holding something. She was holding a piece of paper and some pens. She thought that there had might have been another note that was given to her. She slowly jumped out of her bed and looked at the clock longingly, it was half past eight, when school started. Oh, she thought. She rushed down the stairs and thought that she would have to have a look at the note that Alanah might have written for her or her Dad.

She rushed out the door grabbing her lunch and her recess and saying goodbye to her Dad. Her Dad replied half worried if she would miss out on first period art.  She looked at her watch and found that it was eight forty-five. She ran past the bus stop and through the main street past the pharmacist and reached the school. That must have been a world record for her. She slowed down as she went into class. The teacher stood waiting for her to appear. She wasn’t clear on what to do, so she just walked in and sat down on an empty seat. She looked at her teacher and thought she would realize that she was late and she had just arrived, but she didn’t. She just called her name out and Ellie replied.

Ellie looked out to her classmates and they looked back. She thought about the note that Alanah might have left for her and her Dad. She thought about where it might have been. As she said that she was absent, she took out her pencil case and there was a note. The note said, trail, she tried not to show anyone this note which was very hard but she managed. She looked at the note closely and then looked back again, there appeared the word trail again. She thought that it was from Alanah so she then took the piece of paper and put it as close to her eyes as she could. She then looked into the piece of paper and there were no words written, then abruptly, she took the paper back and saw the word trail, she thought that it must have been from Alanah. Ellie wrote down the place and time that she got this piece of paper, eight-fifty, in school bag. Ellie had the perfect handwriting, it was from her Mum. She always compared her handwriting to her Mums when she was still alive.

Skateboards

Hi Everyone,

This term and last term, I have been studying the art of street art and graffiti. We have learnt all about street art and if it is vandalism or not. We researched different fonts and colour for our skateboard. We looked at the different types colours and fonts and printed them out and then tried to copy them onto our skateboard. But first, we had to think of a special cause to express your opinion. Some people in the class choose to write quotes instead, eg, life is a rollercoaster, don’t worry or be free. I decided to make my cause just to be able to express yourself and don’t be afraid to. To express my opinion, I wrote my name in bright yellow to say that I am not afraid to express who I am. I also drew black and grey clouds behind to show that my name was more important then my worries.

I thought that this was a very interesting and fun unit that the whole of Year 6 enjoyed. I loved how we could express our opinions within our skateboard designs.

This is my skateboard design:

CYOAS – Chapter 3

Hi Everyone,

This term, we have a different type of homework than last term and that homework is called choose your own adventure story (CYOAS). We have to write an adventure story over eight weeks and you have to write one chapter each week with characters. In the same blog post each week, we have to add three options where you can decide what happens next. This is my third chapter.

If you haven’t read any of my chapters yet, be sure to have a look at my earlier chapters:

This is a link to my first chapter:

https://miap217.edublogs.org/2015/08/02/cyoas-chapter-1/

This is a link to my second chapter:

https://miap217.edublogs.org/2015/08/09/cyoas-chapter-2/

These were the options from the last blog post:

As Ellie’s father came in he said:

  1. a) “Are you okay, I was just at the dry cleaners and they messed up our orders, as you can see.”
  2. b) “I was at the dry cleaners when they messed up our orders and then I saw this note on the bench that said, To Steven, so I took it but it doesn’t say anything.”
  3. c) He just silently smiled and nothing came out of his mouth.

The option with the most votes was option … b, “I was at the dry cleaners when they messed up our orders and then I saw this note on the bench that said, To Steven, so I took it but it doesn’t say anything.” So I am going to base the next chapter on that option.

Chapter 3

Ellie’s Dad looked blankly at Ellie. He thought for a minute. How was he meant to pull off, to Ellie, his explanation? He thought. He decided to just tell her. He leant back. His face was so red it looked like he was going to erupt like a volcano. He thought this was ridiculous. He thought that he would talk to her later. He stepped slowly past Ellie. He assumed that it was the right thing to do, so he walked placidly, smiling at Ellie, but he stopped halfway. He thought that she would understand. He turned to tell Ellie what had happened. As he walked down the stairs, Ellie turned and asked, “what is it Dad?”

“Oh, I just want to show you this piece of paper I found at the drycleaners when I got these clean, small clothes.” He handed Ellie the piece of paper. Ellie studied it like she did with hers before. She looked. She looked at her school bag and gave a sort of look you get when you just got a triple scoop of ice cream. She grabbed her torch from her school bag. She flicked the switch on and screamed. It had worked, and it had something that made more sense to her than the piece of paper that she had received.

She looked into the paper as though she looked straight through it. She kept looking and replied to her Dad.

“I got a note too.” Ellie said. She was wondering if he had seen the white blob (Alanah) too.

Her Dad replied, “What do you mean, a note?”

“This piece of paper” Ellie shot back.

“But, it doesn’t say anything apart from To Steven” he said quickly.

Ellie explained, “When I got home, I turned the piece of paper that I had got around to see if there was anything on the back. But, then I saw something. I looked and squinted to see if the note would change. Nothing happened. But as I backed away from the piece of paper, I could see something clearer. I then looked further away, and I could see a word, “follow”. I think that it might be the same with your piece of paper. I think you have to pull back the piece of paper until you see the words appear.” She said so as she pulled the note back. Ellie’s Dad and Ellie leaned in close.

What did it say?

They stood confused and entertained by this piece of paper. Ellie was confused even though she had seen this sight before.        She looked into the paper and through it, Ellie’s father as well, but they could not understand it.

Ellie finally realised that the piece of paper that she was holding in her supple hands, was the exact same as the piece of paper she had gotten. She wondered how it was possible because her Dad had said that the note wasn’t at the dry cleaners when he had arrived. He had arrived at the drycleaners at three o’clock and Ellie saw the white blob at her locker at eight minutes past three. Ellie thought that maybe there were other white blobs that work for Alanah. She also thought that maybe they were just mythical creatures. Ellie told her father what she thought. But at the same time, they could see something on the piece of paper.

CYOAS – Chapter 2

Hi Everyone,

This is a little summery from my last blog post:

Ellie (the main character) was in her least favourite classroom, Mrs Arlin’s sport class. You would have thought that Ellie, a slim girl that is very fast at sprinting that has long legs and long arms that she would be very flexible, but she isn’t at all. She has a lot of trouble in sports lessons when she is asked to stretch and touch her toes as she often fails at that. Mrs Arlin on the other hand, was a short stout woman with a kind personality with the same messy bun worn everyday. When the bell had rung and Ellie had gone down the stairs, she saw a blob of white smoke around her locker. The white splotch of something engulfed her mind, as that was the only thing that she could think of. She walked slowly to her locker as the white splotch had disappeared. She then looked into her locker and there was a message. The message had said something.

The options were:

a) The message said: I will see you at the school principal office at 7:00pm sharp.

b) The message said: Have a great and fun day at school today, Dad.

c) The message said: Nothing

Most of the commenters had chosen option three (the message had said nothing).

Chapter 2

Ellie looked at the message closely, she thought about it and looked at the note from different angles. She thought. She then realised that this wasn’t right and so she thought that she should do something about this. She thought harder. Abruptly, she thought that this might be invisible ink.

Maybe, the white splotch new that she was intelligent and that she could figure out a lot of things. She expeditiously, grabbed a spare torch she had in her bag and shone it on the message that she had had in her smooth, supple hands. She looked into the note. She looked in the paper confused. What did that mean?

In her hands there had been a captivating message, which had said follow.

She thought and thought, but all these confusing yet incredible questions had come up in her head. What did fallow mean? How could I, a typical teenager, be able to find out what the message had meant? She was confused. Very confused. She thought to herself for two seconds and then thought out loud again. What could this have meant? She studied the piece of paper over and over again.

When Ellie got home, she thought about telling her father and if he would believe her. She knew that her father would believe what ever Ellie said because she had proof (the note) and they were the only ones left in the family. Once she had told her father she would feel much better and less confused she thought and so she entered the living room as that was were her father was on Friday afternoons, but instead she walked in to her living room and no one was there. She looked around but could not find anyone. Ellie’s house was always uncluttered and tidy, but for some reason, the house was very messy and chaotic. She looked around but there still wasn’t anyone in the living room. She wondered where her father was.

Ellie walked in to her living room and sat on her assigned seat. She thought that her Dad might have gone out to get groceries, so she did her homework. When she had finished her homework, she thought that she might look at the message again to make sure it had not changed. She looked at it carefully. As she looked, she could faintly see the word follow, she wasn’t using a torch yet she could see it. She turned the piece of paper around to see if there was nothing on the back. She saw something comparatively. She looked and squinted to see if it would change. Nothing happened. But as far away as she went to the paper, she could see something clearer. She looked further away. She saw a word. Two words. Three. Four. She could then see a sentence. The sentence said:

LOOK IN YOUR LOCKER EVERY DAY BEFORE YOU GO HOME, AFTER ALANAH (THE WHITE BLOB) HAS VISITED

She didn’t understand what it meant. She took the paper further away to her eyes and turned it around. The word follow was a lot clearer but there was noting else there. There were no other words.

Suddenly the door flew open. There was a large thud noise. Out from the hall came Ellie’s father, angry. His face was as read as a tomato, his body covered in wet, tiny clothes, even thought it was sunny. He looked like he couldn’t be defeated, destroyed, hurt. But on the inside there was a kind personality that came out with a loving smile.

As Ellie’s father came in he said:

a) “Are you okay, I was just at the dry cleaners and they messed up our orders, as you can see.”

b) “I was at the dry cleaners when they messed up our orders and then I saw this note on the bench that said, To Steven, so I took it but it doesn’t say anything.”

c) He just silently smiled and nothing came out of his mouth.

Don’t forget to comment with what way you would like the story to go!

CYOAS – Chapter 1

Hi Everyone,

‘Ellie, push yourself” Mrs Arlin bellowed. Ellie rolled her eyes as she was in her least favourite class, she was in Mrs Arlin’s sport class. You would have thought that Ellie, a slim girl that is very fast at sprinting that has long legs and long arms that she would be very flexible, but she isn’t at all. She has a lot of trouble in sports lessons when she is asked to stretch and touch her toes as she often fails at that.

Mrs Arlin was a short stout woman with a kind personality with the same messy bun worn everyday. Mrs Arlin was the sort of teacher that kept on going and never gave up on her students, she is confident and encouraging to all of her students.

‘Just, push harder,’ she continued in an exasperated huff.

Suddenly, the intense, last-period bell rung, it was time to leave. Ellie was in Year six, middle school but she thought that she was in Year eight or Year nine and she liked to act like that as well. She sometimes wears makeup to school and gets away with it at school even though she is not aloud to wear makeup to school. Sometimes, Ellie would even not think about coming to school on some days because she just doesn’t feel like it or she fakes being sick to her soft, affectionate father.

Ellie raced down to her locker to get her belongings and to go home. As she raced down, she saw a white splotch of smoke near her locker. She inadvertently, blocked up the pathway of the stairs leading to the lockers. Her hands, fixed to the metal railing of the Junior School of Belington Collage. For that split second, Ellie thought she was ahead of time and that she was dreaming about this colossal, white blob of smoke around her locker. Abruptly, she felt herself rock like she was on a boat in the deep sea, it was a stampede of people trying to get passed the girl that caused the trouble. She then realised that it wasn’t a dream and so she turned to enter her locker.

The white splotch of something engulfed her mind, as that was the only thing that she could think of. She thought about all of the other things she was supposed to (homework, activities). She thought that she should step those things aside for a moment and focus on what is going on. She thought about what her mother would have thought if she was alive and continued walked down the staircase. She imagined a lot of things in her head.

She walked down and ran to her locker, as it was Friday, the Year sixes ran like a herd of elephants once the bell rang. She looked carefully, but quickly in her locker. She found a piece of paper. She stared and thought. She looked at the eye-catching, remarkable piece of paper. In the insufficient piece of paper, she could see words that had a thousand meanings to each of them. She thought that all of her thoughts would come together and gather to understand this alluring message, but instead she was clueless. What did this message say? What did it mean? She stood still, confused.

Please reply to choose what should happen next.

  1. The message said: I will see you at the school principal office at 7:00pm sharp.

2.  The message said: Have a great and fun day at school today, Dad.

3.  The message said: Nothing
